A RECORD number of artists will display their paintings at Lancaster and District Art Society's Summer Exhibition when it is staged for the second year at Hornby.
The exhibits will be previewed on Friday evening (June 26) after the exhibition has been opened by the society's vice-president, Lord Shuttleworth and will than be open to everybody over the weekend.

"Our society is recognised as amongst the best in the north, not only for the paintings and drawings that will be displayed at Hornby but also for the way we encourage local artists to get involved," said Colin Pickering, society secretary.

The Summer Exhibition is open to the public on Saturday and Sunday and there is plenty of parking nearby.

As an extra attraction, refreshments are available all day including home made cakes made by art society members and supporters.

Entry is free.
