HUNDREDS of soul lovers enjoyed a real feast of soulful music when Morecambe's Seaside Soul Club hosted the second annual North Lancs Soul Festival last weekend.
Visitors from Scotland, Yorkshire, The Midlands, London and The South Coast enjoyed 72 hours of non-stop soulful music at The York Hotel, The Bath Hotel and a fantastic night on Saturday at Smokey O'Connors reliving the memories of The Old Morecambe
Pier Niters.

The upstairs room on Saturday night was packed with a dancefloor reliving the memories of the Blackpool Mecca nights of the 70s with tunes from Tavares, Vicky Sue Robinson, Earth Wind and Fire and War along with Motown, Northern Soul and some of the newer tunes all played to an appreciative crowd.

Many locals came in to support the club and everyone commented on what a superb venue for a soul night with a lovely wooden sprung dancefloor and a great feel to the place.

The revellers had a fantastic time in the York Hotel all the way through the weekend, with the party going on till the early hours of Saturday and Monday and everyone wanting to come back again next year.

Landlord Mick Dennison and his staff all joined in the fun late on Sunday evening.

Dave and Sue Makin at The Bath Hotel enjoyed a busy weekend too and wherever you went all you could see was a room with happy smiling faces, great music and everyone just having a wonderful time
Hotels and guesthouses were all booked up and this event is now something firmly placed on the soul calendar as an essential weekend event.

And more importanly it was all free. The majority of those who travelled to Morecambe last weekend have already booked their stay for the third North Lancs Soul Fesival next year.

A full report will be available on The club's website www.seasidesoul.co.uk with videos and galleries.
