A DANCING couple can be seen adorning the walls of a popular Morecambe cafe on a special piece of artwork.
Anthony Padgett and Stephanie Sturges are the stars of 'Morecambe's Singing Butler' – a framed digital print currently on display at Chill juice bar on the promenade.

Anthony and Stephanie, who will also run the fourth annual Morecambe Salsa Dance Festival this Sunday (July 27), have created this artwork as their own version of a painting called 'The Singing Butler' by Jack Vettriano, which hangs next to it in Chill.

"We wanted to bring the famous picture to life and dance on Morecambe sands," said Anthony.

"So Stephanie and I had to be both butler, maid and the dancers and then I digitally joined them together.

"We wanted to give it extra vitality, so we did a salsa dip rather than a ballroom hold."

A limited edition of 10 of these paintings are being sold in Chill. Anthony and Stephanie's Salsa Dance Competition takes place behind the Eric Morecambe Statue this Sunday at 3pm.

If it is raining Anthony and Stephanie will be holding umbrellas over the competitors, but the audience will need to bring their own!

The event is free and dancers from around the country take part.

Spectators can sit on the steps behind the statue.

To start the festival at noon there will be dancing on the promenade with free lessons and magnificent views.
