"THE sexiest band in the area" will be the latest act to perform at the infamous Sonic Boom rock event at Morecambe's Dome tomorrow night (Thursday, July 24).
Morecambe's Chase This City, who recently celebrated the 18th birthday of their vocalist Carl, will bring their unique brand of "dark melodic punk" to the venue, joined by Manchester's Dear Superstar and Lake of Fire.

Comprising Carl Manion on bass and vocals, Jeff Moore on guitar and vocals, Hunter Moore on guitar and Dan Waddock on drums, the band spent their early days "jamming some Plus 44 tunes", playing live for the first time at The Carleton with fellow Morecambe bands Article 48 and Dimestore.

"It was awesome," remembers Jeff, "We played to about 200 people and raised over £800 for St Johns Hospice which was unbelievable."
It's a far cry from drummer Dan's early days playing a gig at Moor Institute aged 14 or Hunter and Jeff's days watching their dad in a covers band.

So what sets Chase This City apart from fellow Morecambe acts?
"We are much better looking and sexier than any other band around" jokes Jeff.

"We set out to try and make something of this band rather than sit around and moaning that we never had the chance to make it.
"It's nice to play a home town show but you are not going to get very far by just playing these venues week-in, week-out."

The band will also play at Lancaster's Lounge as part of Parklife on Friday, August 1.
