CAST your minds back just two weeks ago and we were following Carnforth lad Marc Walker's efforts at playing Glastonbury.
Well, guess what? Marc and his band Myth of Unity have bagged themselves a slot at the festival.

Finalists in the Q Music's Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition, frontman Marc and the Preston-based band recently travelled down to Glastonbury to perform in front of various music big cheeses.

Performing for Radio One's Huw Stephens, Q Music's editor and Michael Eavis himself (organiser of Glasto) the band were delighted to be given a cheque for £500 and a slot at this year's event.

Despite not walking away with the main prize (playing on the festival's main stage), the band were chuffed to be asked to perform in Glasto's dance village.

"The atmosphere at the final was amazing and all the other bands hung out together and were all just generally happy to be there." explains Marc.

"The judges were all really positive about us.

"In amongst this chaos came Michael Eavis, full of enthusiastic cheer, giving me a handshake and presenting me with a cheque for 500 quid.
"It was a bit much to take in."

continues Marc. "It was very much a laid-back atmosphere where bands were encouraged by everyone.

"We put on a flawless show and represented what we do perfectly. We feel a slot in the Dance Village may be more appropriate for our sound.
"Finally, we'd like to thank all the people who have shown support through our website."

* Send the band a message of congratulations via their website www.myspace.com/mouuk
