'Let's Get Moving' at The Dome

THE MORECAMBE Dome is gearing up for a dance extravaganza as it plays host to the Let's Get Moving gala which celebrates the achievements of people with learning disabilities from the Lancaster district.
The event marks the end of term finale of the Let's Get Moving dance scheme which is now celebrating its 10th anniversary.
It is run by NHS North Lancashire through its Community Health Team at The Knoll in Lancaster.

The dancers are now puttin
g the finishing touches to their routine before the big day tomorrow (Thursday, July 2) when they will also receive a certificate of achievement from Bolton le Sands Councillor Keith Budden.

The Knoll provides a range of facilities for people with learning difficulties including, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy and psychological services.

The dance classes are designed to help members improve their fitness and meet new people.

Sally Parnaby, director of organisational development and provider services at NHS North Lancashire said: "The Let's Get Moving programme has gone from strength to strength over the last 10 years.

"Dance has proven to be a very sociable and exciting way for the group to get fit and keep to a healthy weight.

"Thursday's finale at Morecambe Dome will be a great occasion and an excellent opportunity to applaud everyone's achievements throughout the year."

Let's Get Moving at the Morecambe Dome is from 9.45am to 11.45am and entry is £1.
