Shining a light for the RNLI

The Great Orme lighthouse at Llandudno is renowned for its breathtaking views just as much as our very own seafront.

So a Morecambe woman felt right at home when she hired the Welsh landmark to raise money for a very good cause.

Sharon Knox, of West End Road, took her family and friends to the clifftop lighthouse to celebrate her 50th birthday and raise money for her late father-in-law Glendon ‘Curly’ Knox’s favourite charity the RNLI.

Sharon and her party spent three days at the lighthouse where they played roulette and armchair horse racing, and sang karaoke to raise a total of £181 for the RNLI.

The lighthouse, located at 370ft above sea level, now doubles as a guest house.

It was built in 1862 and is located on the Great Orme limestone headland, offering panoramic views towards the Lakes and the Isle of Man.
