The Platform hosted a Vintage Fair.

Vintage was the watchword at the weekend as Morecambe went back in time to the 1940s and 1950s.

Morecambe Heritage Weekend included a vintage fair at the Platform where clothing styles and products used in that age were on sale.

The Winter Gardens also opened up for a classic bike display and a new portrait exhibition of entertainment legends Morecambe and Wise, Laurel and Hardy, Dame Thora Hird and Albert Modley was unveiled.

Andy Russell, who runs a computer shop in Morecambe, praised the weekend, held as part of the nationwide Heritage Open Days initiative.

“This clearly was not just a success but was good for the public as well,” he said. “There were a lot of mods and scooters with a lovely display of Vespas and Lambrettas.

“The sheer quality of the cars, the work involved and commitment was nice to see.”
