A long standing Morecambe promenade pub has been given a fresh and exciting facelift.

The Royal Hotel reopened on Thursday after an extensive refurbishment and during its first few days of business, the response of customers has been very positive.

They included our own chief reporter Greg Lambert, who visited on Saturday night.

Later, Greg tweeted on his twitter account @VisitorGreg: “I like the new Royal pub. Subtle changes have made it an altogether classier joint. Check it out.”

Owners Sean and Ann O’Hagan’s investment includes an improved bar as well as a new floor, lighting, furnishings, redecorated toilets, an eye-catching external canopy and staff, including manager Lee Donnelly and chef Roy Currah, formerly of Pebbles restaurant.
