PUBS and venues in Morecambe enjoyed a bumper bank holiday without a hint of trouble.

Sunday afternoon and evening was particularly busy as revellers let their hair down and packed into the town’s favourite drinking spots with police reporting no major incidents.

Sean O’Connor, landlord of Smokey O’Connor’s, said Sunday was “the busiest we’ve ever had”.

“The place was heaving and everyone behaved themselves,” said Mr O’Connor. “A big thank you to all my customers.” Other pubs enjoying a packed Sunday included the Ranch House, Palatine, Queens, Lord Nelson, Joiners and Bradford.

The Beachbash pop music festival at the Platform also attracted big crowds all weekend and the town’s first ever beer festival at the Winter Gardens received rave reviews.
