McGuinness book picture perfect

Childhood sweethearts and partners for 23 years, John and Becky were married in their home town in April 2012. As Becky put the finishing touches to her make up in the hall mirror she needed no reminding of what her new husband-to-be does for a living. John's centenary Senior TT winning HM Plant Fireblade, a gift from Honda in recognition of his achievement in setting the first ever 130mph lap of the Mountain Course, takes centre stage in the entrance to their Morecambe home.

Becky McGuinness, wife of resort motorbike ace John, looks a picture as she prepares for her wedding day.

This picture looking into the family life of the Isle of Man TT great is just one of many revealing images in a new book on the Morecambe Missile.

In, John McGuinness: TT Legend, the Honda rider tells the story of his TT career in his own words, talking about everything from his 19 race wins on the island to the dangers of his sport.

The book features more than 150 photographs from Stephen Davison, one of road racing’s most recognised photographers, as well as photo’s from John’s private collection, covering his childhood to the present day.

The book is from Belfast publishers Blackstaff Press.
