Trust members are being encouraged to hold their own Big Buzz Tea Party to help raise funds.
Matt Stanaway, general manager of The Midland, says: “The Midland is a truly iconic hotel.
“One of the most popular experiences people like to enjoy here is our fantastic traditional English afternoon tea.”
Cakes that have been made in the Big Bake-off will be judged at the hotel at 2pm on Saturday, July 28.
The winner of the competition will see their cake hand-crafted by the hotel’s acclaimed pastry chef and served to the hotel’s guests and diners.
They will also win a free stay at the hotel and there will be a runners-up prize of a baking lesson with the Midland’s pastry chef.
Tickets cost £10 of which half will be donated to Living Seas North West which campaigns to protect marine life and provides a marine education programme in the Morecambe Bay area.
