Pupil’s fury over exam U-turn
A school pupil who says the Government has wrecked his education has written to the Prime Minister.
Conor McIntyre sent a letter to David Cameron blasting him for the Government’s U-turn on a planned shake-up of GCSEs.
He says the changes could put him at a disadvantage for a university place or a good job when leaving school.
Education secretary Michael Gove has abandoned plans to scrap GCSEs and introduce a set of harder exams for 16-year-olds, called the English Baccalaureate (EBacc) Certificate, which were due to begin in 2015.
Conor, 15, picked his GCSE options based on the original plans.
