A COMMUNITY resource centre in Lancaster which will provide mental health services for older people is due to open next week.

Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust is holding an opening event on Wednesday, August 29, between 4pm and 6pm at the centre in Ashton Road, Lancaster.

Members of the public will have the opportunity to look round the building, see what changes have been made, find out more about the services being provided and meet the staff who will be working there.

Alistair Rose, Lancashire Care’s Project Director for the Trust’s Capital Programme, said: “We’re delighted to invite people along to the opening where we will be unveiling the official name of the new building.

“We will also be providing an update on the work due to take place across the road on Pathfinders Drive later this year. This involves the redevelopment of the Oaklands Unit into the inpatient service for North Lancashire.”

The new development will offer the public convenient and accessible services in one location supporting the delivery of modern healthcare for the people of Lancaster and surrounding areas.

The centre will provide a base for older adult community services including Enhanced Day Care, Intermediate Support Team, Memory Assessment services and Lancaster Community Mental Health Team.

You can drop in at any point between 4pm and 6pm.
