Diamond celebration for couple

Diamond wedding couple Kath and Eric Pywell

Diamond wedding couple Kath and Eric Pywell

A CHANCE meeting at a dance led to marriage for a couple who are celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary.

Eric Pywell met his wife Kath at a dance after her friend said she wanted to go out with him.

Eric said: “I fancy your mate” – and the rest is history.

Eric and Kath, who moved to Westminster Road, Morecambe from Rugby about eight-and-a-half years ago, have enjoyed a happy life together since they met in the early 1950s.

They married within 18 months of meeting at Rugby Methodist Church.

After marriage, they lived with Kath’s gran before moving into their own house.

The couple have three children, Angela, 56, Malcolm, 59 and Neil, 46.
