ANY business with an interest in Morecambe tourism is invited to a meeting on Wednesday, July 2, to 'Make Morecambe Great In 2008'.
This networking event at Chill juice bar on the promenade will enable businesspeople to share ideas and make contacts with the common interest of helping the resort's tourist economy.

There will be business support advisers from the Enterprise Fo
r All group on hand to give any tourism-related businesses advice on how to develop.

The 'Make Morecambe Great In 2008' event starts at 10am and is organised by Dawn Lavinia and Allison Rawcliffe of the new promenade Little North Western Train and DJ and party entertainer Trevor Cooke.

The group will be launching a new 'Make Morecambe Great In 2008' T-Shirt at the event.

MEANWHILE Trevor Cooke's idea for a summer beach party in Morecambe is gathering pace.

Since The Visitor broke the story about Trevor's campaign for a family fun day on Morecambe beach - run through the social networking website Facebook - over 1,000 people have signed his on-line petition agreeing with his idea.

He has been in discussion with Lancaster City Council, although plans remain at a very early stage.

If you would like to be involved in helping to organise this hoped-for event, Trevor is holding a meeting at the York Hotel tonight (July 2) at 6pm.
