Marketgate shops buyout

LANCASTER'S Marketgate shopping centre has been acquired on a freehold basis for £34.5 million.
Allied Freehold Property Trust Limited announced their acquisition of the 130,000-square-foot site.
Adam Cohen and Darren Sharpe, the managing directors of Allied, have been actively engaged since 1990 in the successful redevelopment of the former Tops Estates' Shopping Centres at Ashton-under-Lyne, Corby Town Centre, Liverpool, Stafford, Worcester and Shepherds Bush.
Darren said: "We will pursue the opportunities to carry out major redevelopment and improvements to the centre."
